Leigh Cockburn |
Leigh Cockburn was born in
Hamilton, Ontario in 1942. He is a graduate of Hamilton
Teachers' College and McMaster University. In December 1996 he
retired from teaching after thirty-five years. His last thirty
were spent with the Hamilton Board of Education. His initial
one-man show was at the Alice Peck Gallery in Burlington in
1970. Since then he has had many other one-man shows plus
contributed to group shows. His work is represented in the
Dofasco Collection, the Royal Botanical Gardens, plus many other
businesses in Southern Ontario. He has contributed to the loan
collections of the Hamilton Art Gallery, the Burlington Cultural
Centre, and the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown, P.E. I.
He presently runs "Just A Wee Gallery" out of his home in North
Burlington.
