Bill Sanders

Bill Sanders was born in 1956 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. As the youngest of four boys, Bill was exposed to many interests. Artistic, musical and athletic talent runs throughout the entire family. He discovered the sport of windsurfing and pursued it with passion, until he reached Canadian Champion Status as a racer and free stylist. He also was on the Canadian team in Italy at a world event. As a young adult , Bill was a lead vocalist in a band and played electric guitar in several groups.
Spending time at the family cottage on Buckhorn Lake gave Bill a strong connection to the woods and water. Primarily self taught, he studied the work of the Group of Seven extensively, and you can see their influence in his work.

With a strong eye for composition and a true love of the Canadian landscape, Bill’s paintings vibrate with colour exploring emotion in paint. Using complementary colours, he too, allows the vibrant red or orange under painting to peep through his work.
