Bill Sanders was born in 1956 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Spending time at the family cottage on Buckhorn Lake gave Bill a strong connection to the woods and waterways. Primarily self taught, he studied the work of the Group of Seven extensively, and you can see their influence in his work. With a strong eye for composition and a true love of the Canadian landscape, Bill’s paintings vibrate with colour exploring emotion in paint. Using complementary colours he, like Tom Thomson of the Group of Seven, allows the vibrant red or orange under painting to peep through his work.
Bill is currently living on Maui and hopes to have continued success as an impressionist landscape artist and enjoy “living the dream” in Hawaii.
